Spring - Motoyi

This particular time known as Sa'aiki'somm or Duck Moon, marks the time when ducks return. Duck eggs are sacred food in Blackfoot Beaver Bundle ways. Owners will open their bundles soon, as the ice is in thaw and the beavers will emerge from their lodges.

The thunder will soon return and the Thunderpipe owners will begin opening their bundles.

It is Spring.

This is the time of year when buffalo calves are born. Flowers come up. These little indicators of Spring coming are so important.

It raises our spirits.
