Red River Métis IPCAs
On February 8, 2022, in partnership with the IISAAK OLAM Foundation and the Manitoba Métis Federation, we co-hosted a webinar that explored Métis-led conservation in Manitoba.
The Manitoba Métis Federation is establishing two Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs) in the Red River region (Kettle Hills Blueberry Patch IPCA and Thompson Region Protected Area).
Moderated by Eli Enns, we heard from Minister Will Goodon (Minister of Housing & Property Management, Manitoba Métis Federation), Riley Bartel (Conservation Coordinator, Manitoba Métis Federation) and Jessica Lagimodière (IPCA Project Officer, Manitoba Métis Federation) as they shared Métis knowledge, culture and identity and how these are woven into the vision for these IPCAs.
