Monica Mulrennan
Monica Mulrennan is a Professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment and Associate Vice-President of Research at Concordia University in Montreal. Her research addresses Indigenous-led strategies of conservation and environmental stewardship that draw on Indigenous institutions of knowledge and practices. She works closely with Crees of Eeyou Istchee (northern Quebec) and Torres Strait Islanders, northern Australia, on issues related to subsistence fisheries, environmental change and adaptation, protected area creation, and local knowledge, tenure, and use of coastal and marine territories.
