Stream Co-Lead: Eric Wilson
Eric Wilson is a PhD candidate at the University of Victoria, with co-supervisors in the Civil Engineering Department and the Gustavson School of Business. His research focuses on developing an emotionally intelligent, human-centred approach to engineering design education that prepares graduates to engage with complex problems at the intersection of society and technology.
Eric has supported the development and delivery of Design Thinking programs in five countries at both graduate and undergraduate levels. During his work as a student in the Master of Applied Science program with the University of Victoria’s Civil Engineering Department, Eric took his experiences working in residential construction and developed a project with RJC Engineers to study energy efficient building practices and the barriers to implementing the Energy Step-code in British Columbia.
Eric holds a degrees and certificates in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, educational psychology, and leadership coaching. He currently holds positions with the IISAAK OLAM Foundation and RJC Engineers to support Indigenous-led infrastructure development initiatives and is co-lead for the IPCA Economics, Infrastructure, and Financing stream of work with the Conservation through Reconciliation Partnership.
