Dr. Helina Jolly is an interdisciplinary scholar, filmmaker, and artist working at the intersection of natural and social sciences. Her work is centred on understanding the relationship between Indigenous people and conservation landscapes.

Her doctoral research examined the intricate relationship between the Kattunayakan, a hunter-forager Adivasi community of Western Ghats in Southern India and their local ecosystems through the lens of their coexistence with wildlife interactions, land meanings, traditional fire regimes, and food systems.
As part of her research, Dr. Jolly also produced an ethnographic documentary – Gidiku Vapathu - capturing some key research insights.
